With most of us spending more time at a computer it is important to have the best posture while using it.

To have the best posture, you should be able to answer yes to all of the questions below.

1. Can you get close to your workstation without any impediment? (Check the chair arms are not in the way and there is clear leg space)

2. Is the seat height adjusted so your thighs are parallel to the floor with

your feet resting flat on the floor or footrest?

3. Are your hips, knees and ankles all at 90 degrees?

4. Is the lumbar support adjusted to fit in the small of your back, if fitted?

5. Is the backrest angle adjusted so you are sitting upright?

6. When sitting tall and looking straight ahead, are your eyes in line with the top edge of the screen (where the glass meets the plastic)?

7. Is the screen one arms length away from your body?

8. Is your screen positioned so it is sitting directly in front of your body?

9. Is the keyboard positioned approximately 5cm from the edge of the desk, or at a position where your elbows are aligned directly below the shoulders?

10. Do the letters G & H line up with the centre of you body?

11. Is you body square to the desk, when you are using the keyboard? (Are your nose and toes pointing in the same direction?)

12. When using the keyboard, can you draw a straight line from the tip of your middle finger down to your elbow?

13. Can you reach your mouse while keeping your elbow near your side?

14. Can you alternate using your mouse with your left and right hands? (Optional)

15. Do you vary the activities that you perform regularly? eg alternate between writing, reading etc.

16. Do you take short breaks (approx 2 min) during repetitive activities?

17. Is your desk cluttered with unnecessary things? 18. Are all items that are used regularly kept within close reach?

19. Do you move your body instead of reaching for items?

Please share this with whomever you think needs it.
